Product Overview

Thermal Solutions Machined to Specification

Heat sink performance depends on material, fin geometry, base flatness and the thermal interface with the heat source. We machine all four to specification, reviewing your thermal load to recommend a fin configuration that meets the target temperature rise at a competitive cost.

Zhigao is a manufacturer of heat sink cnc machining serving customers in Europe, North America and Asia. Every order is produced to your drawing and inspected against your specification before shipment, with full documentation supplied.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between skived and machined heat sinks?
Skived heat sinks are produced by shaving fins from a solid aluminium block, achieving thin fins with no thermal interface between fin and base. Machined heat sinks are cut directly from plate, which suits small quantities and complex geometry.
What is the minimum fin thickness you can achieve?
For skived fins we can achieve 0.3mm with a fin height to thickness ratio of up to 20:1. Machined fins are typically 0.8mm and above.
How do you ensure flatness for good thermal contact?
Base flatness is controlled to 0.05mm per 100mm and verified during final inspection on a granite surface plate.
Can you attach the heat sink to a housing?
Yes. We can machine mounting bosses, screw holes and thermal pad recesses, or supply the heat sink with thermal interface material applied.
What is the lead time?
Samples are typically ready in 7-10 days and mass production in 15-25 days after drawing confirmation.
Do you offer copper heat sinks?
Yes. Copper heat sinks are available for applications requiring higher thermal conductivity than aluminium.
