Product Overview

Housing and Heatsink in One Casting

Car amplifiers and home amplifiers need a rigid, attractive enclosure that also removes heat from the output devices. A die cast body performs both roles, and by machining the mounting faces and fins accurately we ensure the thermal path from device to ambient is as short and effective as the design allows.

Zhigao is a manufacturer of car audio and home amplifier parts serving customers in Europe, North America and Asia. Every order is produced to your drawing and inspected against your specification before shipment, with full documentation supplied.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can one part act as both housing and heat sink?
Yes, and this is the most common design for car amplifiers. The die cast body carries the power devices directly, so heat spreads into the housing and is dissipated from the outer fins.
How flat are the transistor mounting faces?
Mounting faces are machined and controlled to 0.05mm per 100mm so that power devices make proper thermal contact with the housing.
Which surface finish suits an amplifier exterior?
Brushed and black anodized aluminium is the most popular combination for a premium appearance. Sand blasting gives a more matte and uniform look.
Can you machine connector and control cut-outs?
Yes. All cut-outs, screw holes and threaded inserts are machined after casting to your assembly drawing.
What is the tooling lead time?
New die lead time is normally 20-30 working days after drawing approval, depending on part size and complexity.
Can you also supply an extruded version?
Yes. For long, uniform housings an extruded profile is often more economical, and we can machine it with the same finishing options.
