Product Overview

Surface Quality That Shows in the Finished Product

Polishing is often the final operation before a part is seen and judged. We remove machining marks progressively through grinding, buffing and final polishing, and we inspect under controlled lighting so that surface defects are caught before the parts are packed.

Zhigao is a manufacturer of surface polishing serving customers in Europe, North America and Asia. Every order is produced to your drawing and inspected against your specification before shipment, with full documentation supplied.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you achieve a true mirror finish on aluminium?
Yes. Mirror polishing is achievable on aluminium, although the result depends on alloy purity. 6061 and 6063 both polish to a high gloss, with purer alloys giving a brighter result.
Will polishing change the part dimensions?
Polishing removes a small amount of material, typically 0.02mm to 0.2mm depending on the starting condition. We account for this in the machining stage for critical dimensions.
Can you polish parts before anodizing?
Yes. Polishing before anodizing is common and produces a bright, clear anodic film. We can also polish before bright dipping.
What is the finish difference between polishing and brushing?
Polishing uses abrasive wheels and compounds to create a smooth, reflective surface. Brushing uses abrasive belts to create a directional grain, giving a matte satin appearance.
What is the lead time?
Polishing is normally completed within 3-5 working days after the parts are ready.
How do you prevent surface damage in transit?
Finished parts are wrapped in protective film and separated with EPE foam inside the export carton.
